“Yesterday, we went to see the reindeer being fed at Glenmore and 20 or 30 mallard decided to join the feast,” says Roy Thomson from Middlesex. “This is them after a small boy disturbed them, but they quickly returned.”

“I was heading down to Aberdeen Beach for an early morning run, when I was stopped in my tracks by this scene of two dog walkers taking in the pumpkin spice sunrise,” says Bruce Taylor who sent in this photo.

Elspeth Mitchell got a lovely view of a comet on a cold evening in Montgarrie, Aberdeenshire. She said she “couldn’t stop looking at it even when our hands and feet were frozen!”.

“This squirrel couldn’t get enough of the nuts or posing for the camera,” says Beth Maddox who sent in this photo. “The autumnal woodland made the perfect backdrop for this little fella.” The photos were taken in Barnhill Wood in Kirkcudbright.

“On a recent trip to Aviemore, we visited Loch Morlich to watch the sunset – and our dog Mabel joined in,” says Kevin Webster from Dunfermline.

The Hunter’s Moon rising above Ayr town centre sent in by Michal Piasecki. He says: “I took advantage of the low tide which allowed me to venture further out on some rocks between the Greenan Shore and Craig Tara and align my shot as I wanted.”

Ian Jamieson was driving home from his night shift and had to stop to take some pictures of Montrose harbour looking particularly striking.
