Founded in 1981 by husband and wife duo Colin and Margaret Wood and now managed by the second generation, Wood Leisure Holiday Parks has grown from a modest holiday park in Blairgowrie to an expansive network with parks located throughout Scotland – Lomond Woods, Corriefodly, Deeside, and Callander Woods.

Over the past 40 years, the Wood family have built a reputation for excellence, with all five existing parks holding the prestigious five-star status as well as winning numerous awards including the Scottish Family Business Award and Best Holiday Park in Scotland.

A key contributor to the family’s success has been its ongoing commitment to sustainability, integrating numerous green initiatives across the parks to allow for 100% renewable energy operations and regular reinvestment to all the Holiday Parks.

These include the use of an electric fleet, installation of solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and a biomass heating system. The team are also transitioning to battery powered machinery and well as installing Smart heating systems in the self-catering accommodations.

The seven-figure funding injection has been facilitated by Royal Bank of Scotland, which has been the primary banker for Wood Leisure Holiday Parks since its inception and will aid in the businesses growing its turnover in excess of £10m.

Rachel Wood, Director of Wood Leisure Holiday Park, said: “This expansion represents the continued drive and work of our family and for that I’m so proud.

“From humble beginnings, we have grown into a network of premier holiday parks, and the acquisition of Faskally allows us to offer further variety to our customer as well as providing our Wood Leisure standard of accommodation and customer service in a truly stunning area of Perthshire.

“The support from Royal Bank of Scotland has been instrumental in enabling us to take this exciting next step and we cannot wait to get Faskally up and running with the same sustainable focus and quality we’ve become known for.”
