William Glen owner takes on Church of Scotland social care role

Mike Cantlay said he saw Crossreach’s impact when its staff cared for his mother

1. The Church of Scotland has appointed a former VisitScotland and NatureScot chairman as the convener of its social care council.

Mike Cantlay will also be the chairman of the board of Crossreach, the church’s social care provider. Cantlay, 60, has held a number of senior board positions across Scotland’s public and education sectors.

He also runs his own business, William Glen, which sells Scottish goods to North America. On his new role Cantlay said: “I have witnessed first hand the incredible impact of CrossReach’s services when they cared for my mother, and I am truly passionate about supporting and enhancing social care across Scotland.”
