Well-known Scottish football pub goes on market
The Scottish Business Agency said the Tavern Bar on Tollcross Road in Parkhead, Glasgow, offers “a real opportunity for either development of the public house under a new owner or experienced tenant operator”.
The agent also said: “The business benefits from high footfall, lounge function hire, growing food offering and busy matchdays, when Celtic play at home and even away.”
SBA continued: “Parkhead, located in Glasgow’s vibrant East End, is a bustling area rich in history and community spirit. Known for its iconic landmarks and lively atmosphere, it’s home to a variety of traditional pubs, modern bars, and casual eateries, making it a great spot for locals and visitors alike to relax and enjoy the city’s renowned hospitality.
“The Tavern Bar offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a pre or post-match pint and bite to eat with friends or a lively night out.
“Also just a short distance from the Emirates Arena, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Celtic Park. This brings a host of benefits to local pubs and bars, as the area becomes a hotspot on sporting events and match days, drawing in fans and visitors looking for a pre- or post-game drink or meal.”
SBE also said: “Fully refurbished in 2024. It is a traditional public bar and lounge and features attractive frontage/exterior and modern decor throughout.
“The owner is seeking offers for the sale of the heritable interest (freehold), going concern. They would also consider leasing the premises to hands-on operator.”
SBA said the asking price for the sale of the Tavern Bar is £250,000 and the lease is £50,000.
