‘We look like Scotland’ – O’Hara rages at England’s ‘worst ever’ performance

talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara raged at England’s performance after their 1-1 draw against Denmark, labelling it their ‘worst-ever’.

England could only muster a 1-1 draw against Denmark despite going a goal ahead early on through Harry Kane, as Morten Hjulmand unleashed a terrific drive from outside the box to equalise in Frankfurt.

But the Three Lions could not respond and rarely tested Kasper Schmeichel in the Danish net, leading to frustration from fans watching on.

And that included talkSPORT’s very own O’Hara and Jason Cundy, who conducted a watch-along on our YouTube channel, and they were not impressed.

They labelled Thursday evening’s Euro 2024 match as England’s ‘worst-ever’ performance under Gareth Southgate.

O’Hara went even further, comparing England’s toils to that of Scotland this tournament.

The former Tottenham midfielder said at half-time: “We look like Scotland right now. What am I watching? We look like Scotland. Mate, we are awful.”

He then continued after the 90 minutes: “This has been an absolutely diabolical England performance.

“Only one player deserves to be in an England shirt today is Marc Guehi.

“Awful performance. Awful performance from England, terrible.

“We don’t deserve to win. I can’t believe how bad of an England performance this has been. This has been coming, though.”

Cundy chimed in and said: “I think this is probably the worst performance under Southgate in a tournament.

“We are stinking Frankfurt out, we are stinking Germany out.”

While England are top of their group, they could have secured qualification with a win in Frankfurt, though that looks almost definite in their current position.

Scotland, meanwhile, have one point from two matches after getting thumped 5-1 by Germany in the opening match of the tournament before a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.

The Tartan Army are not returning home just yet, though, and could still qualify – and might not need a miracle to do so.

England’s tournament will continue on Tuesday when they take on Slovenia in the final match of the group stage.

A win will confirm them as group winners but a draw will also see them qualify, while defeat might see them drop as low as third.

But, with four points, that might be enough to secure them qualification as one of the four best-placed teams in third.
