Watch Scotland vs Israel: Uefa Women’s Championship Qualification – BBC Sport
Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa says reports linking him with the Lyon job are “just speculation” as his team prepares to face Israel in Euro 2025 qualifying.
Reports in Spain suggested Martinez Losa was one of those being lined up to replace Sonia Bompastor, who has joined Chelsea after guiding the French side to three straight domestic titles and one Champions League victory.
Martinez Losa has addressed the link with his squad and reiterated he is “totally committed” to Scotland.
“It’s just speculation,” he added. “Now is not the moment to speak about anything other than Scotland and the importance of the game tomorrow.
“I was very clear with the group. There is speculation that I cannot control. Media can have views and opinions. We are are all committed to the same objective.”
Friday’s qualifier with Israel is taking place behind closed doors amid security concerns.
The decision was taken by the Scottish FA a fortnight ago due to the expectation of protests at the match given the backdrop of the conflict in Gaza.
Martinez Losa says he believes the decision is being taken “in the best interests of everyone” and added he spoke to the leadership group in his squad about any concerns.
Scotland took four points from their opening games against Serbia and Slovakia, and have the chance to take six points from the double-header with Israel, a side ranked 47 places below them.
After Friday’s game at Hampden, Scotland travel to Hungary for the return with Israel, a match that will also be played without fans.
“We have done some work with the group on research of the impact of games played behind closed doors,” Martinez Losa added.
“The common sense is the motivational aspect with the players not having your fans.
“But both teams are in the same conditions and we have done some work to make sure the group can compensate for this.”
