Travel information for Scotland v Finland football match

Train operator will be running extra trains for supporters travelling to for next Friday’s men’s Euro 24 warm-up match between and Finland.

The match, on Friday, 7th June, kicks off at 19.45 and is Scotland’s last match before the team travels to Germany for the European Championships.

To help fans get to stand from the match, ScotRail is adding more services and seats on trains between Glasgow Central and from , the closest station to Hampden Park.

Before the match, there will be queuing systems at Glasgow Central, which may result in longer times to board trains.

Fans heading to Hampden Park should therefore allow extra time for travel to the game, and again from Mount Florida after the end of the match.

After the match, the only access to Mount Florida station will be from Bolton Drive, the main road leading to the station from the Hampden Park stadium.

To reduce the need to queue, ScotRail advises that all customers should buy their return tickets in advance via the mTicket system on the ScotRail app.

Although passengers will still need to queue to board trains, they can avoid having to queue when buying tickets on the day by purchasing them through the mTicket system, either from the comfort of their home or on their way to the station. Tickets purchased through the mTicket system will be instantly available on their mobile device.

There will be extra ScotRail staff available to help passengers. ScotRail also reminds supporters that they cannot carry or consume alcohol while travelling on ScotRail trains or in ScotRail stations.

Similar travel arrangements have been implemented for previous international matches, the final of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, 25 May between Celtic and Rangers , and for the semi-finals of the cup.

We’re looking forward to helping fans travel by train to watch the Scotland men’s national team play Finland at Hampden on Friday night.

We’re adding more services and extra carriages to trains between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida to help supporters travel to and from the match, and we’ll have additional staff on hand to help you.

Customers heading to Hampden should plan ahead and allow more time for travel, as queuing systems will be in place before and after the match, and trains will be busy.

Buying your return tickets in advance through our mTicket system on the ScotRail app will reduce your need to queue.
