Road, rail and train services are facing further disruption as wintry conditions continue across Scotland with two warnings for snow and ice issued.

The warning covers the Highlands, Moray, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Orkney Islands and Shetland Islands.

Forecasters warned the conditions will lead to “difficult” driving conditions and travel disruption.

The Met Office added that sleet is more likely along windward coasts at times, leading to ice formation on untreated surfaces overnight.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the snowgates on the A939 between Cockbridge and Tomintoul were closed on Wednesday and remain closed on Thursday.

ScotRail said that further inspections would be carried out on Tuesday morning along routes in the Highlands.
