Three Scotland fans arrested after woman, 22, ‘attacked’ at fan zone in Germany
THREE Scotland fans were arrested and fined over an assault on a Munich woman watching last Friday’s game with Germany.
Munich Police issued a statement yesterday, saying the trio had been released after paying a financial penalty.
However, the incident is now being investigated by the city’s criminal police and may result in further action.
All three men provided addresses in Northern Ireland.
The statement said:”Last Friday, around 9.50pm, a 22-year-old woman was in the fan zone at the Olympic Park when she was assaulted by three Scotland fans.
“All three men were aged 24 and come from Northern Ireland.
“The woman, who was slightly injured, made contact with local police on the site.
“The three men were arrested and taken to the police station to provide statements.
“The woman also claimed she had been kicked.
“After paying a fine, the three men were released.
“However, the matter is now under investigation by the Munich Criminal Police.”
