Storm Kathleen: Wintry scenes as snow sweeps across Scotland
It may be the start of spring, but Storm Kathleen has brought an unexpected late flurry of snow across parts of Scotland on Friday.
Parts of the country woke up to wintry landscapes as a yellow weather warning for snow came into force during the night.
STV meteorologist Sean Batty said that snow will be heavy in northern parts of the country with some sleet and wet snow is possible especially in the north Highlands including areas of the A9 south of Inverness.
“As much as 10-15cm of snow may accumulate in grassy areas over 300 metres,” he said.
The Met Office has also issued a yellow warning for rain for other areas of the country, with flooding expected.
Due to flooding on the line, ScotRail confirmed that services between Glasgow and Edinburgh will be cancelled on Friday morning.
The travel provider said buses had been requested and are looking to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
There are also speed restrictions in place due to heavy rain.
However, many have been enjoying the snow with images of scenic surroundings shared across social media and with STV News. From snow angels to stunning, frozen rivers, here is a collection of the scenes across Scotland.
