Space-Comm Expo Scotland Prepares for Launch – Scottish Business News

With just a week to go until Space-Comm Expo Scotland at SEC Glasgow on 11-12 September, anticipation is building for Scotland’s largest-ever space industry event.

The expo will attract over 3,000 delegates, 70 exhibitors, and 100 speakers, including UK and Scottish Government Ministers, representatives from the UK Space Agency, and the European Space Agency.

This inaugural event will gather global leaders, international delegations, and industry experts from government, aerospace, defence, business, and academia.

They will explore new opportunities in the global space economy, driven by government and commercial collaboration and rapid technological advances. Currently, there are about 10,000 satellites in orbit, with projections of 50,000 by 2030.

The expo will offer a two-day programme with keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, and showcases of the latest technologies.

Highlights include Orbex’s orbital launch vehicles, AAC Clyde Space’s small satellites, Celestia’s satcom communications, Star-Dundee’s spacecraft data-handling, CRP Technology’s 3D aerospace printing, and Technia’s space debris and robotics simulations.International delegations will include representatives from the Nordics, Denmark’s CenSec, Swedish Space Corporation, Germany’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ports & Transformation, German Aerospace Centre (DLR), and Malaysia Space Agency, coordinated by Scottish Development International.

Programme themes include the UK’s leadership in space, investment in the new space economy, global collaboration, space law, cyber-security, satellite manufacturing, space data analysis, launch capabilities, in-orbit servicing and manufacturing, and AI for space sustainability.

Keynote speakers will feature UK and Scottish Government Ministers, UK Space Agency, European Space Agency, United Nations for Outer Space Affairs, Space Scotland, and Civil Aviation Authority, alongside business leaders and academics from organisations such as Orbex, HyImpulse, Astroscale, CGI, AAC Clyde Space, BioOrbit, PWC, DLA Piper, and the Universities of Strathclyde and Edinburgh.

The event is supported by the UK Space Agency, UKSpace, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Government, Space Scotland, South Scotland Enterprise, FinTech Scotland, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Organised by Hub Exhibitions, the award-winning expo attracts international delegates and visitors from across the UK, Europe, and the global space community.
