Sky Bet to cover costs for Scotland fans’ bagpipes at Euro 2024

The move is part of Sky Bet’s For The Fans reward scheme.

Scotland fans bringing their bagpipes to the UEFA European Championship 2024 (Euro 2024) this week won’t have to worry about the extra baggage costs thanks to Sky Bet.

The tournament kicks off in Munich on Friday, with Scotland involved in the opening game against host nation Germany.

Ahead of the match, Sky Bet has worked with the Scotland supporters group, agreeing to cover the extra baggage costs which will come from members of the Tartan Army bringing their bagpipes to Germany.

Back in February UEFA confirmed that bagpipes would be permitted inside stadiums for Euro 2024 as long as they are registered with the Scottish Football Association (SFA), after the Association of Tartan Army Clubs (ATAC) persuaded the governing body that the instrument should be allowed.

Bagpipes are a traditional Scottish instrument that can often be heard in the stands during Scotland matches and through Sky Bet’s For The Fans reward scheme, fans won’t need to worry about the extra cost of bringing their bagpipes to the summer tournament.

Sky Bet launched its ‘For the Fans’ initiative in collaboration with Grey London earlier this year, seeking to acknowledge the deep connection between supporters and their teams, shifting from purely focusing on the betting experience to prioritising the modern fan experience.

In other sports betting news, Premier League side Wolves have entered into a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Debet, with the gaming platform becoming the club’s new principal and front-of-shirt partner for the next two seasons.
