Shepherd managing partner all set for the high jump – Scottish Business News
DARREN Lewis, Edinburgh-based Managing Partner at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, is all set for the high jump.
This Cash for Kids Day, May 2nd, he will jump from an aircraft 10,000ft above the ground as part of the Watermans Cash For Kids Charity Skydive.
The goal is to raise £20,000 to support Cash for Kids who are on a mission to battle holiday hunger.
Organised by Sky Dive St Andrews, Mr Lewis will experience 30 seconds of free-fall – skydiving through the air at speeds up to 120 miles per hour – before flying the parachute and finally landing as part of a tandem parachuting fundraising team.
“I’m told that, from above our drop zone, we’ll have great views over the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh, and Fife. On a good day we’ll be able to see the southern Highlands in Perthshire. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to raise funds for a great cause.”
The free lunches children get in school are often the only meal some children have that day. This leaves 90 days of school holidays per year where children could go hungry, rising to 170 days when you include weekends.
Cash for Kids is there to help those in need who are right on our doorsteps. Donations to The Watermans Skydive will ensure children have enough food to eat during the summer holidays
