SFA fined £7,600 for fans ‘throwing objects’ during Euro 2024
The Scottish Football Association have been fined €9,000 (£7,640) for two incidents of fans “throwing objects” during the group stage of Euro 2024.
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) confirmed fines were handed down for incidents of “throwing of objects” during Scotland’s matches with Germany and Switzerland.
The governing body said a fine of €5,625 (£4,775) was dished out under Article 16 of the CEDB for throwing of objects during opening game of the tournament in Munich on Friday, June 14.
A further €3,375 (£2,865) was issued as a fine for the same type of incident during the June 19 game with Switzerland in Cologne.
The Swiss were also fined over £20,000 for objects being thrown during the clash.
Hungary were fined €45,000 (£38,202) for throwing of objects and a further €10,000 (£8,489) for “transmitting a message not fit for a sports event” during their clash with Steve Clarke’s men in Stuttgart.
In total, UEFA handed out over €1m in fines over the course of the group stage.
