Scottish Water £9bn procurement process could create 4,000 jobs

1. Scottish Water has opened a procurement programme that could be worth up to £9 billion and is expected to create about 4,000 jobs across supply chains.
The utility said it was the largest investment process in its history with the work to be delivered between 2027 and 2033.
That will include upgrading existing water and waste water assets as well as construction and engineering projects.
Rob Mustard, Scottish Water’s director of capital investment, said there would be opportunities for medium, small and micro businesses alongside larger players.
The procurement phase is expected to be completed by March 2026.
