Scottish pub named third best place in whole of UK to watch Euro 2024 action

THE Tartan Army are expected to flood to Germany this summer to support their heroes at Euro 2024.

But there’s good news for the Scots who aren’t able to travel out for the tournament.

Fanzones have been set up across the UK to watch all of the action.

And a new ranking has found that an Edinburgh pub is in the TOP THREE of these fanzones.

Data from Betway based on entry cost, Google searches, ratings, and prices of soft drinks and transportation was used to compile the list.

The Three Sisters in Cowgate ranked highly thanks to its affordable prices and lack of an entry fee, allowing fans to watch every game for free.

A comparatively high Google rating of 4.1 also helped the venue to rank above competition from the rest of the UK.

Scotland had another representative on the list, with Dundee‘s Slessor Gardens, which came in at joint eighth spot despite a £20 entry fee.

The winner was Millennium Square in Leeds, which won thanks to its high Google traffic and low entry fee of £5.

Meanwhile, Steve Clarke has hinted at who he might call up to replace the injured Lyndon Dykes for Euro 2024.

The Scotland boss has been left with a selection headache after Dykes had to be stretchered out of training with an injury which will keep him out of the action in Germany.

The striker joined Aaron Hickey, Nathan Patterson and Lewis Ferguson on the treatment table, and Clarke suggested at who he was looking at as a potential replacement for the 28-year-old.

Bristol City striker Tommy Conway is coming off an impressive season in the English Championship, in which he struck twice to dump Premier League West Ham out of the FA Cup, and he has been tipped as the favourite to replace Dykes.

Clarke said: “Tommy’s done great and he’s certainly one who’s at the front of my mind.

“I have a relaxed day [on Tuesday], I’ll have a little think about it and have a chat with my staff.”
