Scottish Open 2024: Field and tee times

The field was made up of 156 players before the cut on Friday night.

The latest leaderboard from Scotland can be found here.

Ludvig Aberg leads the way after the opening to days at 12-under with Antoine Rozner, Sungjae Im and Matteo Manassero within two shots of the Swede.

Defending champion McIlroy and last year’s runner-up MacIntyre are right in the mix again while Collin Morikawa, Sahith Threegala, Adam Scott and Nicolai Holjgaard are also going well.

And tee times and pairings for the third round can be found here.

As this is a Rolex Series Event, it is enjoying a superb field with 13 of the world’s top 20 players teeing it up.

LIV Golf players have not been invited but will be at The Open in Troon next week.

Scottish Open 2024: Course details

The Renaissance Club is the centre-piece of Scotland’s golf coast and is now the permanent home of the Scottish Open.

The course, located between the famous Muirfield and North Berwick Golf Clubs, will play to a par 70 and a maximum yardage of 7,237 yards this year.

Renaissance has a long, tricky start while the finish is a classic mix of an easier par 5 followed by a demanding par 3 and a long par 4.

The short par 3 sixth always provides entertainment as a host of deep pot bunkers await any wayward tee shots.

The par 4 13th is also a fan favourite. Located right on the beachfront, the hole tempts players to go for the green despite it being 412 yards as the right wind can carry it all the way.

Scottish Open 2024: What has been said?

A year after missing the cut in the Scottish Open in just his fifth start as a professional, Aberg has cruised into the halfway lead in the £7million event.

The 24-year-old Swede exploited ideal conditions at the Renaissance Club to card a second successive 64 on Friday.

“It’s been very nice,” Aberg said. “I felt like we’ve had a very good game plan and are executing the shots.

“We try not to force anything. We try to have a lot of acceptance when we play and make sure that we put good swings on it, and give ourselves plenty of chances, which I felt like we’ve done very well.

“There’s, what, 150-something players in the field? No-one is going to play perfect golf for 72 holes.

“I think things like a bad bounce are going to happen to everyone at some point and, whenever that happens, you’ve just got to try to deal with it the best you can.”
