Scottish celebs don their glad rags for return of Bringing in the Bells

Scottish celebrities will be donning their glad rags and popping the champers this Hogmanay as they look back on the best moments of 2024.

This year’s edition of Bringing in the Bells will see STV presenters Sean Batty and Laura Boyd, broadcaster Jean Johansson and actor Grado, and comedian Susie McCabe and broadcaster Gordon Smart celebrate their favourite moments of the past 12 months.

Filmed at some of Scotland’s most stunning country homes, including Ayrshire’s majestic Kennox House, the programme will keep viewers company in the countdown to 2025 and will once again be narrated by breakfast telly queen Lorraine Kelly.

The festive extravaganza will also feature an exclusive performance from the critically acclaimed Scottish female pop duo, The Eves.

Bringing in the Bells will see the stars pore over the best telly moments, sporting glories, celebrity gossip, and light-hearted news stories of 2024, before joining viewers for the countdown to midnight and the exciting dawn of a new chapter.

Sean Batty said: “It’s my favourite time of the year, mainly because I get to cosy up with my TV buddy, Laura, and we always have such a laugh. Let’s just say there’s plenty of material that doesn’t make the cut – usually thanks to Laura’s cheeky contributions!”

Laura Boyd said: “I love bringing in the bells with my good pal Sean. We live in neighbouring villages and can’t escape each other so it feels only fitting that we see in 2025 together! It’s always such a giggle – we’re very much the naughty schoolchildren – but it’s so lovely to reflect on the year and see in the new one with our STV viewers.”

Sean added: “Viewers can look forward to a light-hearted trip down memory lane, packed with laughs as we revisit some of the year’s biggest events.

“From the buzz around the Oasis reunion – which, admittedly, I know nothing about – to the much-talked-about Trump comeback, which everyone seems to have an opinion on, there’s plenty to dive into.”

Bringing in the Bells airs on STV and STV Player from 11.30pm on Hogmanay.
