Scott McTominay ‘has turned into a monster since leaving Man Utd’ say fans

SCOTLAND fans are well aware of how lethal Scott McTominay can be in front of goal.

And now Napoli supporters are discovering that for themselves as he’s quickly becoming a fan favourite in Naples.

McTominay, 27, became a talisman for Steve Clarke‘s side in their qualifying campaign for Euro 2024, scoring seven goals in eight appearances as the Tartan Army sealed their place in Germany.

He also netted Scotland‘s opener against Switzerland in Group A but he couldn’t prevent the Scots from crashing out of the tournament at the earliest stage.

McTominay seems to come to life any time he puts on a Scotland shirt but the same couldn’t be said for him while at Manchester United.

Although he scored seven in the Premier League last season, United fans never really got the chance to see his attacking capabilities at full pelt.

But he has quickly introduced himself to his new fanbase since heading to Italy with Scotland pal Billy Gilmour.

The 27-year-old stunned supporters when he opened his account for the club against Palermo with his very first touch in the game after coming off the bench late in the second half of their Coppa Italia clash last week.

He was then give the nod to start against Monza in the league just three days later and he continued his fine form with an assist for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s goal to make it 2-0.

And he seems to be only getting started as he managed to get on the score-sheet again against Como tonight.

It was his first Serie A goal and he did in style as he found the back of the net after just 25 SECONDS to open the scoring in front of a huge home crowd at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

McTominay pushed forward straight from kick-off and was sitting on the last defender as Romelu Lukaku picked him out just outside of the box.

The towering centre-mid took a couple of touches to see past two Como defenders before rifling the ball into the bottom left corner out of goalkeeper Emil Audero’s reach.

And it didn’t take long for Man Utd fans to hear the news as they took to social media to react.

One fan wrote: “Scott McTominay has turned into a monster since he left Manchester United for Napoli.”

Another said: “McTominay looking so good at Napoli.”

Someone else admitted: “Maybe we’re the problem.”

While another confessed: “I’ve been saying it, we let our best midfielder leave.”
