And Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said: “Good luck to Steve Clarke, Andy Robertson the captain, and the entire Scotland team as we head to Germany.

“I hope you smash it in the first game and you never know, let’s live in hope that you bring home the trophy, good luck Scotland.”

Meanwhile, Scottish Tory leader and SFA linesman Douglas Ross said: “I want to wish Steve Clarke and the whole team all the very best for the Euros.

In a video filmed outside of the national stadium in Glasgow, Alba Party leader Alex Salmond said: “I’m here at Hampden Park with the legends of Scottish football embossed on the stadium behind me.

“We’re off to Germany, good luck to Steve and the lads. Come on Scotland.”
