Scotland’s ten cleanest parks to enjoy during October school break
WITH the October school holidays coming up, it can be difficult to find fun things to do for free to keep the kids entertained.
Luckily, Scotland has some fantastic parks to enjoy during the break this month – and it won’t cost a penny.
With this in mind, LitterBins.co.uk has conducted a new study to reveal Scotland’s cleanest parks.
The study has analysed Scotland’s most popular parks in each region, based on TripAdvisor and Google reviews.
They look at reviews specifically mentioning cleanliness, as well as analysing their local areas on garbage disposal satisfaction, and general cleanliness and tidiness.
And the cleanest park in Scotland is in Fife.
Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline takes the top spot as the country’s cleanest park, with an overall score of 7.3 out of 10.
It scored 32 TripAdvisor reviews mentioning cleanliness, complemented by 19 clean reviews on Google.
Dunfermline also contributed to the high score with a 62/100 for rubbish disposal satisfaction and 65/100 for overall cleanliness.
Stirling’s Callander Park ranked in second place with a score of 6.8 out of 10.
The site received 16 clean reviews on TripAdvisor and 13 on Google reviews.
Its nearest city Falkirk earned a top score of 100/100 for rubbish disposal satisfaction and its general cleanliness and tidiness – the highest in the entire study.
Completing the top three is Aberdeen’s Duthie Park, scoring six out of 10.
Duthie Park scored highly due to its large number of clean TripAdvisor Reviews, as well as earning a high number on Google Reviews, too.
The city of Aberdeen also earned a score of 68 out of 100 for its rubbish disposal satisfaction but earned a lower score for its general cleanliness and tidiness with 47/100.
Glasgow‘s Kelvingrove Park is fourth, Camperdown Park in Dundee in fifth and Dean Castle Country Park in Kilmarnock also made the list at number six.
Holyrood Park in the capital is placed seventh, Kirkgate Park in Perth sits in eighth and in ninth place in Polkemmet Country Park in Whitburn, West Lothian.
The Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands came in last place, with the city of Inverness earning a low score of 31/100 for rubbish disposal.
Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park earned the highest number of cleanliness-related reviews on both TripAdvisor and Google Reviews in the entire study.
