Scotland’s Euro 2024 party in full as Tartan Army win the hearts of German hosts
THE Tartan Army lit up Germany during the Euros group stages – throwing epic parties in Munich, Cologne and Stuttgart.
Our world-famous support captured the hearts of locals who joined in with the fun before and after the three Scotland games.
And despite grim results and performances on the pitch, off the park we were unbeatable.
Just hours after arriving in Munich for the opener against Germany, thousands of footsoldiers had drunk some pubs dry, showing an early sign of intent.
What followed were joyous scenes shown across the globe as kilted fans entertained delighted locals ahead of the tourney opener against the Germans.
Who can forget the poor bloke whose kilt was lifted live on TV?
Or the hero’s welcome for Craig Ferguson who WALKED all the way from Scotland?
And when the Tartan army marched onto Cologne it wasn’t long before a giant saltire was laid out on the steps of the incredible cathedral before excited youngsters got the chance to have a kickabout in the famous square.
And the sight of two Scots using a tartan brolly to shelter a German pensioner from the rain has already become an iconic image.
Finally, the carnival continued to Stuttgart where further famous scenes played out – including cops receiving a guard of honour and 100,000 fans crammed into fanzones, pub and restaurants to watch our last match of the Euros.
It may have ended before we would have liked but it was some party while it lasted.
Enjoy some Euro 2024 highlights in the video above – and here’s hoping for more in the US, Canada and Mexico at the 2026 World Cup.
