Scotland’s Euro 2024 calendar: group fixtures and possible last 16 dates
IF you’re of a certain vintage, preparations for tournaments like the Euros as a Scotland fan were a bit underwhelming – because you had to decide who to support since we weren’t there ourselves.
But that’s all changed now, with Euro 2024 marking the second time in three tournaments that our nation will be willing participants on the big stage.
After reaching the World Cup in 1998, our national team was completely absent from international football‘s biggest arenas until qualifying for Euro 2020.
That meant every wall chart was filled in with no mention of Scotland, every pull-out profiled nations that were never Scotland, and every office sweep stake had names of countries that weren’t Scotland.
Now? No Scotland, no party of course.
So this year rather than just looking at the fixture dates with a quick glance, we need to look at them in detail. All eyes on Group A…

Last 16
Scotland can qualify for the last 16 directly by finishing first or second in their group, or as one of the best third-placed teams.
That would see them make history as no Scotland team at a World Cup or Euros has made it out of their group.
Here are the all-important dates for the last 16 should that happen:-
- If Scotland WIN Group A, they will play the runners up of Group C (Denmark, England, Serbia, Slovenia) on JUNE 29 in DORTMUND at 8pm
- If Scotland come SECOND, they will play the runners up of Group B (Albania, Croatia, Italy, Spain on JUNE 29 in BERLIN at 5pm
- If Scotland finish as a BEST-RANKED THIRD-PLACED team, they will play the winner of Group B on JUNE 30 in COLOGNE
And beyond…
If Scotland make it to the last 16 and can triumph, then the quarter-finals are on JULY 5 and JULY 6.
The semi-finals take place on JULY 9 and JULY 10.
The final? Mark the calendar for JULY 14…
