Scotland vs Switzerland Prediction 

Scotland endured a nightmare start to their Euro 2024 campaign and their future in the competition hangs in the balance against Switzerland on Wednesday night (8pm, BBC One). 

Steve Clarke’s men were hammered 5-1 by Germany in their Group A opener as Ryan Porteous was dismissed in Munich, suffering their worst Euros defeat. Scotland must pick themselves up as a second defeat in a row would all but end their round of 16 hopes. 

Switzerland can secure their spot in the knockout phase with a win. They were impressive in their opener to see off Hungary and UK betting sites make them firm favourites to see off Scotland at a best-price of 17/20.

However, Breel Embolo secured the win in stoppage time. The Swiss played with intensity and a cutting edge in the final third that their opponents failed to combat until it was too late.  

Scotland’s defending was abject to say the least and The Panel believe that they will be exposed again by a confident Switzerland outfit.

Kwadwo Duah was surprisingly given the nod in the final third for Switzerland ahead of Embolo and made his mark by scoring the opener against Hungary. 

The 27-year-old entered the tournament off a solid season for Ludogorets Razgrad, where he notched 14 goals in all competitions.  

Duah was part of Switzerland’s fluid performance and will relish the freedom that Scotland afforded Kai Havertz among others in and around the penalty area.
