The clash at Hampden Park comes at a critical juncture for manager Steve Clarke, who is under mounting pressure to reverse a disheartening trend that has seen the Scots win just one of their last 15 matches.

The Tartan Army hoping to catch the game out with the sold-out national stadium will once again be left to find alternative ways to watch the action, as the game will not be broadcast on traditional television.

Instead, fans will have to view the clash with Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. through an alternative method, a situation that mirrors the recent 2-1 defeat to Croatia in Zagreb, where a television blackout left supporters scrambling for updates.

Scotland take on Portugal on Tuesday, October 15.

The match will be played at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm UK time.

Is Scotland vs Portugal on TV?

No. Surprisingly the match against Portugal will NOT be shown live on television.

Much like the Croatia clash, punters looking to watch the game from home or down at the local pub instead of inside the national stadium are set for disappointment.

Viaplay holds the rights to all of Scotland’s mens team’s competitive fixtures until 2028, however the broadcaster recently scaled back their UK sport production, with the September international’s being picked up by ITV through a sub-licensing agreement.

This time around, no such agreement could be made – leaving the nation facing a telly blackout.
