Scotland vs Austria semi-final live on BBC website

Hosts Scotland face Austria in Saturday’s second Women’s EuroHockey Championship Qualifier A semi-final, with the match being streamed live on the BBC Sport Scotland website and app.

Wales beat Czech Republic in the first semi-final at Glasgow National Hockey Centre, with their potential opponents in Sunday’s final starting at 14:30 following a slight delay.

The winners of the final will progress to the Women’s EuroHockey Championships to be held at the Warsteiner HockeyPark in Monchengladbach next August.

Wales had already thrashed Croatia 7-0 on Thursday to reach the semi-finals, while Austria edged out Lithuania 1-0 to set up their game with the Scots.

The home side, the highest-ranked side in the competition and who got a bye to the semis, welcome back captain Sarah Robertson, Amy Costello, Charlotte Watson and Jess Buchanan fresh from representing GB Women at the Olympics in Paris.

Scotland have competed in back-to-back EuroHockey Championships and won gold at EuroHockey Championship II the last time they played a tournament on home soil.

Head coach Chris Duncan said: “We have been really pleased with the growth of the whole group over the year.

“To see our under-21s succeed with a gold medal recently in Turkey has energised everybody within the group.

“Playing at home is always special and the chance for the players to run out in front of a packed crowd of family and friends is something we are all looking forward to.”
