Steve Clarke’s men will be desperate for points as they try to avoid relegation from Group A as Croatia take on Scotland in the Nations League on Friday night.

Top social media tipster Andy Robson‘s on hand to dive into the market in search of some value picks, and he’s got a meaty Bet Builder for us. So, let’s get his Scotland v Croatia betting tips.

Oh, and four of Andy’s player picks are covered by Paddy Power’s Super Sub promo, so if he’s substituted, the pick carries over to his replacement.

Scotland v Croatia Bet Builder tips

Lyndon Dykes to be fouled 1+ times
John McGinn to be fouled 2+ times
Scott McTominay to have 1+ shots on target
Igor Matanovic to have 3+ shots
Croatia to have most corners

WHEN: Friday, 15th November, 7:45pm
WHERE: Hampden Park, Glasgow
TV: Viaplay on Youtube

Lyndon Dykes to be fouled 1+ times

Dykes invariably picks up fouls when he’s playing for Scotland, with the Birmingham striker deployed as a nuisance maker at the forefront of the attack rather than necessarily as a scorer. He performs the role well, having won a foul on 12 of his last 14 competitive international starts.

The Aussie-born striker is drawing 3.2 fouls per 90 so far in the Nations League, which suggests that the odds of him winning just one against Croatia – who he picked up three against last month – are excellent.

John McGinn to be fouled 2+ times

Although John McGinn has not been in top gear lately, he has lost none of his ability to win fouls, and that is likely to be at the fore when he takes his all-action approach back to Hampden after missing October’s internationals.

He has drawn five fouls in his previous two Nations League matches in each game. This puts him joint-11th in the competition in this category despite playing half the available minutes.

This is nothing new, of course. McGinn has earned at least two free kicks in seven of his last eight competitive international starts.

Scott McTominay to have 1+ shots on target

The Napoli midfielder continues to be a long price given his record for Scotland in recent months.

He has become Steve Clarke’s chief offensive arm, having scored an impressive ten goals across his last 13 competitive international matches. He’s also been in good form at club level, too, netting three goals for Napoli after his summer transfer from Manchester United.

He has five shots on target in four outings in the Nations League and is again expected to be Scotland’s talisman from a box-crashing attacking midfield role, which he has shown he specialises in.

Igor Matanovic to have 3+ shots

Scotland are weak defensively, and one of the chief beneficiaries of that should be striker Igor Matanovic. He netted against them last month and will be licking his lips at the prospect of more goals at Hampden.

He ranks fourth in the Nations League for shots, with 17, the same figure as Cristiano Ronaldo. Regarding shots per 90, however, he only lags the in-form Alexander Isak (8.04), who posts 6.71 per 90.

The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has started each of Croatia’s last three games, including the 2-1 victory over Clarke’s side, in which he has three shots, two of which found the target.

Furthermore, he has had at least three shots in three of his four Nations League games despite never getting more than 70 minutes.

Croatia to have most corners

Scotland can be dangerous from set pieces, but they rarely win corners. Indeed, in their two previous Nations League home games, they have had an aggregate of just three of these situations.

Clarke’s side have been so poor at winning corners that they have had less than their opponents in each of the three Nations League matches they have played in this edition.

This contrasts to Croatia, who have won more corners than their opponents in all four of their previous matches. The visitors are an excellent price to continue that trend on Friday.
