Scotland forward Lyndon Dykes has been ruled out of the European Championships with injury.

The Queens Park Rangers striker, 28, suffered an apparent knee injury in training on Friday before being carried from the session on the stretcher.

The national team confirmed on Saturday that he will miss the tournament in Germany.

“Following an injury in training yesterday, Lyndon Dykes has been ruled out of the squad for UEFA EURO 2024,” a post on social media read.

“We’re gutted for you, Lyndon, but know you’ll be back in a Scotland shirt soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Dykes has 36 caps for Scotland since making his debut in 2020, scoring nine goals.

Che Adams and Lawrence Shankland are the other forwards available to Steve Clarke in the current squad.

Scotland kick off Euro 2024 against hosts Germany on June 14 before meetings with Switzerland and Hungary in Group A.

They face Gibraltar, on Monday, and Finland, on Friday, in a pair of pre-tournament warm-ups.
