Scotland Food & Drink strengthens team with two key appointments

SCOTLAND FOOD & DRINK, the industry leadership body for the £16bn sector, has boosted its Business Development team with two new appointments

The company has appointed Tracy Cameron as head of membership and commercial, and Jessica Van Tromp as business development manager for the East of Scotland.

Tracy Cameron joined Scotland Food & Drink in January 2022 as the business development manager for the Highlands and Islands.

She took on the role of interim head of business development earlier this year.

In her new position, she will continue supporting members in the Highlands and Islands while working closely with John Donnelly, membership and commercial director.

Jessica Van Tromp’s journey in the food and drink sector began through Scotland Food & Drink’s graduate programme.

She worked with Scotmid as a graduate commercial support development officer, and stayed on as the local sourcing manager after completing the programme.

Last year, she returned to Scotland Food & Drink as the project manager for Showcasing Scotland 2024, the nation’s largest global food and drink trade event.

Now, she will be supporting members in the East of Scotland as part of the Business Development team.

The team plays a crucial role in supporting over 400 members by connecting them to commercial opportunities and encouraging collaboration among businesses.

Reflecting the organisation’s commitment to comprehensive regional support, they are currently recruiting for a business development manager for the North-east of Scotland.

This role, in partnership with economic consultants Opportunity North East, aims to drive growth and innovation in the region’s food and drink industry.

John Donnelly, membership and commercial director at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “By strengthening our team with experienced professionals like Tracy and Jessica, and expanding our reach with new roles such as the North-east business development manager, we are better positioned to support our members and the wider industry in achieving sustainable growth.

“These appointments and ongoing recruitment are integral to our national strategy, Sustaining Scotland. Supplying the World, which focuses on driving responsible growth through collaborative leadership, connecting, championing, and nurturing the collective potential of the food and drink industry in Scotland.”
