Euro 2024: Deprived of travelling abroad to support their team since 1992, Scottish fans are making the most of the elusive opportunity.

New Delhi: All roads lead to Munich as Germany and Scotland kick off UEFA Euro 2024 at the Allianz Arena on June 14, Friday. The excitement of the fans is sky-high ahead of the continental opener in Bavaria’s capital. The 200000-strong Tartan Army comprising wild Scottish fans has taken over Munich ahead of the highly-anticipated match.

The Scottish supporters are making their best efforts to make their team feel right at home in Germany. The streets in Munich have turned into a riot of colour and noise with fans filling the coffers of local bars.

“It feels as if most of the country are (here),” Scotland captain Andy Robertson quipped.

The streets in Munich are filled with thousands of Scottish fans wearing kilts and waving Scottish flags, dancing and singing to the sound of bagpipes.

Scotland played in the pandemic-affected Euro 2020 but that was hosted by multiple countries.

The Scottish football team would be aiming to keep the joyous atmosphere among the fans with a stellar show in Germany. Playing only their fourth Euro, they face a daunting task to progress from Group A, which also comprises Germany, Hungary and Switzerland.
