Scotland ended their six game winless run by defeating minnows Gibraltar 2-0 in their penultimate Euro 2024 warm-up game in Portugal.

Ryan Christie and Che Adams both netted in the second half after a frustrating goalless first 45 in which Scotland passed up a host of chances.

Steve Clarke had hinted in the build up to this fixture that their may be an ‘unfamiliar’ look to his starting XI and that came, none more so, in the form of Ross McCrorie who was handed an international debut a right back, while James Forrest pulled on a Scotland jersey for the first time since the last European Championships.

Forrest himself should have had Scotland ahead when his close range effort hit the side netting after 12 minutes.

Scotland continued to be wasteful in front of goal in the opening period with Kenny McLean and Grant Hanley both going close before the sides went in level at the break.

Steve Clarke’s men finally broke the deadlock minutes before the hour mark.

The ball fell to the feet of Ryan Christie at the back post before the Bournemouth midfielder slammed it home for his 6th international goal.

Che Adams lashed home an excellent volley with five minutes left to play to polish the score line on a flat evening in Faro, as all eyes now turn to Friday’s Euro 2024 send off against Finland at Hampden.
