Scotland ace splashes out on penthouse flat near Tiger Woods’ planned sports bar
SCOTLAND star Ryan Christie has teed up his latest move in the property game — a penthouse in the home of golf.
The footie ace’s £580,000 apartment in St Andrews is just an iron shot away from Tiger Woods’ and Justin Timberlake’s planned new sports bar.
Christie’s business Twenty Two Investment Properties, run with fiancée Georgie Bell, bought the two-bedroomed flat within weeks of the US A-listers receiving council permission to convert a 90-year-old cinema in the town in August.
A source told The Scottish Sun: “Ryan wouldn’t have to go far for a quick pint and perhaps a round of golf or two with the stars.
“But even if he has no intention of living there, it’s a great investment as there’s likely to be a surge in footfall in that part of town.”
Golf legend Woods, 48, and pop star Timberlake, 43, are sinking £450,000 into the New Picture House development.
It will have a two-screen movie theatre as well as a bar, food, sports simulators, bowling and darts.
Ex-Celtic, Aberdeen and Inverness midfielder Christie, 29, previously told of his love of golf after moving to English Premier League side Bournemouth in 2021.
He said: “I’d like to think I’m a golfer, but my handicap probably says different.
“I’ve heard there’s a couple of lovely courses around here, so hopefully in between a couple of games I’ll manage to get out for a few rounds.”
We told how he bought an £855,000 pad in Edinburgh’s exclusive Moray Estate in May.
He also owns a £185,000 place in hometown Inverness and is thought to have a total property portfolio of around £3million.
Christie bagged his seventh Scotland goal tonight against Croatia in Zagreb.
He tucked the ball home in the 32nd minute to give the Scots a surprising lead against Luka Modric and co.
Christie pounced onto Luka Sucic’s sliced clearance after Ben Doak had put a cross into the box on an impressive night for the Liverpool wonderkid.
Scotland would go on to lose the Nations League clash 2-1, with a late equaliser ruled out by VAR as goals from Igor Matanović and Andrej Kramarić proved decisive from the hosts.
