Scotland 1 Serbia 0: Scots top EURO 2025 qualifying group after unbeaten campaign – PLZ Soccer

Scotland have beaten Serbia 1-0 to earn promotion to League A after an unbeaten qualifying campaign.

Firhill Stadium was like a home away from home for Scotland as a boisterous crowd backed the team from the first whistle.

Although it was an uneventful opening 45 first half with the fans having to wait until the 18th minute for the first real goal scoring opportunity.

Kirsty Smith’s shot from outside the box rattled the Serbian crossbar on the 18th minute before bouncing out to safety.

Serbia came close themselves on the 33rd minute but the ball flew wide of Eartha Cummings’ post and into the side netting.

However, 41 minutes in the home side did break the deadlock with a close range tap in from Kirsty Hanson, after the ball was fired in across the face of goal from Lisa Evans.

Scotland go into Friday’s play off as group winners, having maintained an unbeaten run throughout the entire qualifying campaign.

Serbia will also be in the EURO 2025 play-off draw.
