Rangers star Connor Goldson ‘flies to Germany’ as exit takes surprising twist
TRANSFER speculation surrounding Connor Goldson went into overdrive this morning after he was spotted catching a flight from Glasgow Airport.
The outgoing Rangers star was pictured at the airport with four suitcases and fans were left wondering where he was off to.
Goldson, 31, has called an end to his Ibrox career after six years at the club and 309 appearances.
The defender had emerged as a target for Aris Limassol this month and was given permission by Philippe Clement to jet out to Cyprus to continue transfer talks.
It was understood that he had underwent medical tests but discussions were put on hold and he quickly returned to the UK for Rangers‘ pre-season clash with Birmingham City on Wednesday night.
And that was his last game for the Gers as it’s believed he has now left Scotland for the final time.

Many were convinced the defender was on his way to Saudi Arabia to link up with old boss Steven Gerrard after realising there were no direct flights to Cyprus from Glasgow Airport today.
It was suggested that he was getting on a connecting flight from Amsterdam before landing in Dammam later this evening.
However, it’s claimed that ISN’T the case as has flown to Germany instead.
But he will not be flying out to either Saudi Arabia OR Cyprus this week as reports suggest his final destination will be Austria.
Cypriot outlet Kerkida claim the defender WILL join Aris after all but he will complete his final medical examinations in Germany before being officially unveiled as their new player.
His soon-to-be Aris team-mates and manager are currently in Austria for pre-season so that’s where he will head if everything goes to plan in Germany.
It looks like the transfer saga is finally coming to an end and Goldson will be join the fifth club of his career this weekend.
And his exit will allow Gers boss Clement to use the money freed up from his wages to freshen up his squad.
Goldson is one of many high earners who is expected to leave Ibrox, including Gers skipper James Tavernier.
Clement revealed this week that Todd Cantwell has been made available for transfer, while Sam Lammers and Ianis Hagi will also depart.
It’s understood on-loan midfielder Jose Cifuentes has cut his deal short in Brazil to seal a fresh year-long move to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.
Clement insisted earlier this month that the only first-team star he won’t sell is goalkeeper Jack Butland.
