RANGERS are reportedly lining up a swoop for one of Steve Clarke’s Euro 2024 stars this summer.

Philippe Clement has already snapped up former Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron and will likely add Liam Kelly to his squad after his Motherwell contract expired.

But it’s suggested the Belgian is keen to add more Scots to his roster and is said to be interested in another midfielder along with Barron.

And the veteran star has something in common with the Scotland Under-21 star as they have both played for Premiership rivals Aberdeen.

Kenny McLean, 32, has been a long-term target for the Ibrox club but has never sealed a move to Govan, despite being a boyhood fan.

However, he could finally complete his dream move back to Scotland this summer as he is reportedly on their list of summer targets having been tracked by Gers scouts at the end of last season and at the Euros.

That’s according to the Daily Record – who claim Rangers could land the players if Norwich are willing to do business for the fan favourite.

He still has two years left on his Carrow Road deal with an option to extend it by 12 months on top of that.

But the Light Blues are keen to pry him away from England – as long as the asking price is reasonable.

Norwich appointed Johannes Hoff Thorup as their new boss at the end of last month and it remains to be seen what role McLean will play next season.

The report also suggests a move to Ibrox would depend on him being offered a long-term deal by Clement too.

McLean has never been afraid to show his Rangers allegiances and previously revealed his desire to play for the club one day.

Speaking to the Athletic in 2021, he said: “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t something I’d want to do. As a kid that’s what you want to do, play for your boyhood team.

“Right now, I’m about to play in the Premier League again, so I’m not thinking about it!

“But for me and my family, it would be pretty special. I grew up a Rangers fan, used to go to the games with my dad and as a kid in Glasgow, you support Rangers or Celtic and you want to play for one of them.

“So, I was on the better side.”
