Quantuma expands its Scottish team with senior hire

Restructuring and business advisory firm Quantuma has appointed as a managing director in its Glasgow office. Brian Milne arrives at the firm bringing senior Big Four experience to the practice.

Founded in 2013, corporate recovery and business advisory firm Quantuma has been busy in recent times, as a number of previously up-and-coming UK businesses have floundered amid difficult trading conditions. This has seen Quantuma consistently build its offering in Scotland. In 2021, this saw the firm expand its forensics services north of the border, while in 2023 the firm appointed Craig Morrison as a managing director in Edinburgh, to help the firm diversify its restructuring offering to clients across the region.

Brian Milne has become the latest new joiner its Scottish practice. Arriving as a managing director, he will be based from Quantuma’s premises in Glasgow and he will also spend time in the firm’s Edinburgh office. A seasoned restructuring practitioner, his experience spans all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and advice work.

On his appointment, Brian Milne said, “I am very pleased to have joined Quantuma and to be joining forces such a strong team in Scotland, and more widely. The firm has ambitious growth plans, and I welcome the opportunity to play my part in supporting our capabilities in the region. I am looking forward to working alongside fellow managing directors Ian Wright, Craig Morrison and Scott Milne and the Scottish team as we further develop our offering.”

Milne joins Quantuma from a national accounting practice, where he was head of restructuring and debt advisory, prior to which he held senior roles in the restructuring divisions of PwC and Deloitte. Most recently with French Duncan, he was appointed as administrator of a company owning a 18th century Scottish castle, as well as being appointed as liquidator of an international web based high end fashion retailer.
