A QUAINT little marshmallow shop has claimed the top gong for the best hot chocolate in Scotland.
In a list compiled by VisitScotland, nine of the country’s best hot chocolates were ranked.
And The Marshmallow Lady in Edinburgh came out on top.
Situated near the Royal Botanic Gardens, the charming shop opened its doors in 2012 and has been delighting customers ever since.
The shop’s unique twist on the classic hot chocolate, featuring hand-made marshmallow toppings, has earned it a loyal following and critical acclaim.
Owner Nicole, the creative force behind The Marshmallow Lady, began her marshmallow-making journey in 2010.

Her dedication to perfecting the art of marshmallow crafting has resulted in a menu brimming with innovative flavours and combinations.
From rum and nutmeg to pink toasted strawberry, customers are spoilt for choice when it comes to customising their hot chocolate.
But the shop offers more than just hot chocolate.
Visitors can also indulge in toasted marshmallow milkshakes, homemade soft drinks, and beautifully packaged bags of marshmallows.
The marshmallows themselves are a versatile treat, available in various forms such as toasted, coated in chocolate, or even shaped like doughnuts.
Flavours extend beyond the traditional vanilla, with options like blood orange, chocolate mousse, lemon meringue, and salted caramel.
And new guest flavours keep the menu fresh and exciting.
Glasgow‘s Ocho was named second on the list.
They take their hot chocolate to the next level with toppings like swirls of cream, chocolate shavings, and even edible gold dust.

And for the ultimate hot chocolate indulgence, VisitScotland recommends heading to the Highland Chocolatier in Grandtully, which secured third place.
As Scotland’s most awarded chocolatier, they offer a luxurious hot chocolate with a high cocoa content, delivering a deep, complex flavour.
