Office rents across Scotland may soon outpace big English cities

1. The cost of office rents across Scotland may soon outpace those of big English cities as prices are expected to rise steadily over the next few years, according to data from Savills.
The estate agency’s predictions have piqued the interest of investors who hope to cash in on a reversal of pandemic trends as workers return to the office.
Savills also found that Scotland was outperforming the UK’s housing market.
Mat Oakley, head of commercial property research at Savills, said: “Prime Scottish office rents are expected to continue to rise steadily over the next few years, outpacing some of their regional rivals [Leeds, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham].
