North Scotland charities benefit from share of £378,000 national boost from leading housebuilder – Aberdeen Business News
Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are celebrating a year of giving after their charitable efforts topped more than £378,000 in donations across Scotland.
Each year, the five-star housebuilder supports a wide range of organisations promoting health, employability and care among many other causes. This is done through various charity initiatives, including Barratt’s Community Fund, which donates £1,500 to a deserving local cause in each of its Scottish divisions every month.
Over the last 12 months, Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland has provided financial support to a diverse mix of charities throughout the North of Scotland – coming at a vital time when many families, individuals and organisations have been affected by rising costs. In total, £72,271 has been donated to good causes in the region.
Throughout the year, Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland has raised a whopping £30,571 for Scottish Charity Air Ambulance through various fundraising efforts. A standout event was the annual golf day, which attracted a strong turnout of employees, suppliers, and contractors, raising over £24,000 alone. This was complemented by individual efforts, which included Technical Director Scott Pettitt running five 10K races across the year and a number of employees walking, cycling and running 100 miles each in October.
In a much-anticipated tournament in summer, Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland supported the annual Archie Foundation Battle of the Badges tournament in Aberdeen for the second year as the main sponsor. A total of £20,200 was raised for the Archie Foundation, the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, which works to transform services and experiences in healthcare and bereavement for babies, children and families in Grampian, Highlands and Tayside.
Meanwhile, Cash for Kids received a donation of £3,000 to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people living locally who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs in the North of Scotland with staff volunteering to help with their Mission Christmas appeal.

We’re always looking to use our scale for good where and when we can, and our teams have been on hand throughout the year to support this through a mix of volunteering and fundraising, in addition to Community Fund donations.
