Merkur Casino celebrates first anniversary with donation to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance

The donation comes as the SCAA recently launched a nationwide appeal to help fund its operations.

Merkur Casino in Aberdeen, Scotland is marking its first year of operations with a donation to a local charitable organisation.

The casino has gifted £5,000 ($6,544) to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) to support the life-saving services provided by the charity.

The donation comes at an important time for SCAA, as the organisation recently launched a nationwide appeal to help fund its operations during the busiest time of the year. With increased road traffic and public events during the summer months, the demand for the charity’s air ambulance services typically rises significantly.

Overall, the charity requires £5.2m in annual funding to continue providing emergency medical care throughout the country.

Commenting on the milestone, Mark Schertle, COO for Merkur Casino UK, stated: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our first anniversary by contributing to a cause that is so important to our community.

“Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance performs an invaluable service, and we are proud to support their life-saving work. This donation is our way of expressing our appreciation for the support we have received from the Aberdeen community over the past year and giving something back.”

Kate Loades, Community Fundraising Manager at SCAA, added: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by Merkur.

“Donations like these are essential for maintaining our operations and ensuring that we can continue to provide rapid response medical care to those in need. This contribution will have a direct impact on saving lives.”

In related news, Merkur Casino also held a charity football tournament earlier this year – an event that raised over £12,000 for the Merkur Initiative.
