Liverpool’s Ben Doak has been withdrawn from Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad through injury.

Bristol City forward Tommy Conway has been called up following Doak’s withdrawal.

The 18-year-old winger is the second Scotland attacker to be forced out of Euro 2024 in the space of four days after Queens Park Rangers forward Lyndon Dykes was ruled out of the tournament on Saturday with a knee injury.

A Scotland statement read: “Sadly, Ben Doak has been withdrawn from the Euro 2024 squad through injury.

“Ben – we know we’ll see you entertaining crowds at Hampden in a Scotland shirt soon.”

Doak is yet to make a senior appearance for Scotland but had been included in Steve Clarke’s preliminary 28-man squad. The squad will be cut to 26 ahead of the tournament in Germany.

The teenager, who joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022, has not played since December due to a knee injury.

Conway, meanwhile, is also yet to be capped at senior international level.

The 21-year-old scored 12 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for Bristol City last season and was on the scoresheet for Scotland Under-21s during Monday’s 2-1 loss to Turkey.

Scotland face Finland on Friday in their final pre-tournament warm-up match.

Clarke’s side kick off Euro 2024 against hosts Germany on June 14 before meetings with Switzerland and Hungary in Group A.
