Law Society issues guide on using AI for solicitors

A new guide helps Scottish solicitors navigate the challenges of AI technology

1. Scotland’s legal regulator is keeping a “close eye” on developments in artificial intelligence as it publishes a new guide for solicitors.
The Law Society of Scotland worked with Wordsmith, a legal AI platform, on the advice which covers areas such as client confidentiality, accountability, security, automation bias and insurance.
Stuart Munro, a member of society’s technology law and practice committee, said: “Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform the way legal services are provided, so it’s important that solicitors are properly informed to decide whether it should be playing a role in their businesses.
