1. Johnstons of Elgin is proposing to cut 60 jobs at its manufacturing base in the Highlands. The luxury textiles group said sales had slowed in some overseas markets.
It employs about 750 staff at its Moray operation with management due to meet representatives from Unite next week.
A spokesman for Johnstons of Elgin said “global uncertainty and changes in consumer behaviour” would mean sales this year would be lower than the £100 million it expected to post for 2023.
It has no plans to cut jobs at its other mill in Hawick
