John Blain criticises ECB after being cleared of racism by Cricket Scotland

John Blain has revealed that he has been cleared by Cricket Scotland of allegations of racism made against him. As a result, the former Scotland international has called upon the ECB to reconsider its case against him, the judgment from which in May 2023 found him to have used racist or discriminatory language at Yorkshire more than a decade ago, but which relied on corroboration from allegations in Scotland.

The background to Blain’s case in Scotland concerns the complaints that had been referred for investigation after the publication of the Changing the Boundaries (CTB) report in July 2022 which had concluded that Cricket Scotland (CS) was institutionally racist.
