Jamie Carragher declares Scotland star’s strike as goal of the season live on TV
JAMIE CARRAGHER has developed a reputation for the intricate detail he goes into in his analysis on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
And the former Liverpool defender was gushing with praise for one Scotland star‘s goal in the buildup to Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth shocked Arsenal on Saturday with a 2-0 win at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday night, with Scotland star Ryan Christie hammering home the opening goal after a corner routine.
Carragher was asked how Bournemouth formulated the move, and he was quick to highlight Christie and his teammates for their execution to catch Arsenal out.
He said: “They were undone by the staff at Bournemouth, but more importantly the players to pull it off.
“For me, when we go into the details of the goal and the finish, it’s the goal of the season in this early stage.”

Carragher then explained that Bournemouth adapted their set-pieces when Arsenal went down to ten men, trying to exploit the space on the edge of the box from which Christie broke to score.
And when it came to reviewing the corner that the ex-Celtic midfielder scored from, the pundit was again glowing in his analysis.
He continued: “They flick it round the corner, lovely touch from the substitute Justin Kluivert and Ryan Christie puts it away on the volley.
“As a set-piece goal alone, it’s fantastic.”
And former Rangers star Aaron Ramsey, who was a guest pundit alongside Carragher in the studio, agreed with host David Jones that it was a quality effort.
Ramsey said: “It’s a great finish and a well-worked goal.
“They’ve identified that they can exploit that area and to execute it is a different thing, but they’ve done that really well.”
