Jack Hendry Makes Rightful Celtic Admission About Scotland Teammate | Latest Celtic News

Former Celtic central defender Jack Hendry is now a regular for Scotland.

The 29-year-old currently plays his club football for Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq out in Saudi Arabia and has been a constant in Steve Clarke’s side for the past few years.

Hendry’s career took an almighty turn for the better when he joined KV Oostende on loan from the Hoops in 2020.

He has never looked back since initially moving to Belgium after spending an underwhelming few years in Glasgow where he made 27 appearances for Celtic in all competitions.

Currently with Scotland at the Euros, Hendry has linked up with some of his old Parkhead teammates.

The defender played with Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Greg Taylor, and Anthony Ralston during his time in Glasgow’s east end and has been reunited with them in Germany.

Hendry has featured in each of Scotland’s games in Group A, including the most recent one where his ex-club teammate Ralston made a costly error which led to a Switzerland goal.

The right-back recovered well, and when touching on his fellow defender’s resilience, Hendry made an intriguing admission about Celtic.

“I played with Tony for a brief spell with Celtic”, he said (Glasgow Times).

“You wouldn’t be at Celtic if you weren’t a resilient character. Again, Celtic has obviously got its own testimonies with the size and stature of the club.

“You are going to have setbacks at different parts during games. I am sure Tony has had that at Celtic as well. Yeah, it shows a lot about his character that he was able to continue his game.”
