Inverness teenager helps Scotland win gold at international basketball tournament
INVERNESS teenager Emily Hill helped Scotland win a gold medal as they came out on top to win an international 3×3 women’s basketball tournament.
The 17-year-old, who plays for Highland Bears, was part of the Scotland team which came out on top at the School Games held in Loughborough.
Along with Clara Dick, Fleur Gamal and Caoimhe Stupart, Hill was part of the Scotland squad which took on teams from England, Wales and Ireland.
They lost their first game to Ireland by only two points but then won their next two games against England Red and England White.
On the Saturday they beat England Black and Wales to reach the semi final.
This put them through to the semi final on Saturday evening in which they went on to beat England White team by one point.
In the final on Sunday morning they played England Red and won gold.
Hill was delighted her team came out victorious.
She said: “It was the most amazing experience, and the atmosphere was electric.
