International Round-Up: Scotland, Uruguay Prevail

We are almost through the purgatory of this November international break. Next weekend, Liverpool will be back to defending their place atop the Premier League table. For now, Reds players continue to represent their countries around the globe.

The big winners on Friday were Uruguay in their Conmebol World Cup qualifier against Colombia. Darwin Núñez and Uruguay nicked a 3-2 victory against Luis Díaz and Colombia at the very end of added time. The win puts Uruguay barely into second place on the Conmebol table, above Colombia only on goal difference after 11 games.

Andy Robertson and Scotland beat Croatia 1-0 in the very real UEFA Nations League. However, they are still down in last place in group A1. Very sad news for the Scots, who have probably all grown up dreaming about winning the, again, very real UEFA Nations League trophy.

A Mo Salah-less Egypt drew against Cape Verde in African Cup of Nations qualifications. Salah was exempted from his international duties this month, which should give Liverpool fans some comfort as they like their candles and wait for the players to return home unharmed.

Finally, Wataru Endo and Japan got a resounding 4-0 victory against Indonesia to put them in the AFC World Cup qualifiers, keeping them firmly atop group C.
