Hydrogen celebrates 8 years with ambitious growth plans for future – Scottish Business News

Hydrogen, a leading social media agency, is celebrating its 8th anniversary with impressive growth and ambitious future plans.

Founded in August 2016 and acquired by PA Media Group at the end of 2022, Hydrogen is poised for further expansion.

Over the past year, Hydrogen’s turnover has achieved a record level of turnover, bolstered by new clients such as Visit Isle of Man, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, Isle of Arran Distillers, and AGS, the group behind Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Southampton Airports.

Plans for future growth have been supported with the appointment of Stef Richards as Operations Director earlier this year. Bringing over a decade of experience in the marketing and operations sector, including over a year as Head of Content Operations at Groupon UK, Richards’ expertise in streamlining processes will be instrumental in enhancing the agency’s efficiency and scalability.

Richards said: “I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this incredible team at Hydrogen. I have already been blown away by the impressive mixture of creative prowess, industry-leading skillsets and dynamic fortitude displayed across the entire team. I can’t wait to see what exciting new opportunities the coming years will bring for us.”

Managing Director Nicky Logue has bold aspirations for Hydrogen as it approaches its 10th anniversary in 2026.

She said: “Having spent the past year integrating Hydrogen within PA Media Group, we’re now ready to leverage this support to elevate Hydrogen further. This includes not only growing our thriving client base and services but expanding our operations outside of Scotland.

“Bringing Stef into the fold is a game-changer for us at Hydrogen: her energy and vision is already making a huge difference, not just to the here and now, but in helping us scale for the future. It’s a big win for our team and our clients alike. Her extensive background in content and marketing operations and her visionary approach to leadership are precisely what we need to propel us into our next chapter of innovation and growth.”

Growth targets include a 50% increase in turnover by 2026, as well as launching in a new UK location – although Logue does have her eye on potential international growth over the next decade.

To achieve these targets, Hydrogen is investing in its staff to upskill and grow alongside social media. A strong focus is being put on social media intelligence and insights: ensuring that client’s benefit from the depth of knowledge and social expertise fostered at the agency, while Richards’ role will ensure the scalability needed for sustained growth.

To enhance this offering, Hydrogen is currently undergoing a brand refresh, with a new look and website set to launch before the end of 2024.

Logue added: “As Hydrogen continues to grow and evolve, it’s the perfect time to refresh our brand to reflect the strength and maturity we’ve achieved. This new direction not only honours our journey so far but also sets the stage for the future.”

The Glasgow-headquartered social media agency counts Visit Isle of Man, SSE Energy Solutions, and Business Stream amongst clients.

As Hydrogen marks this milestone, the future looks bright with continued innovation, growth, and passion for social media.
