Hub Scotland showcases £4.2bn programme of learning estate infrastructure

As development partners with public sector clients across the country, the companies, collectively known as Hub Scotland, have delivered hundreds of learning estate projects worth £2.7bn, including early years, primary and secondary education facilities, with a further £549 million under construction and £942m in development.

For the seventh year since the conference’s inception, and as key supporters of the event, Hub Scotland joins the two-day Learning Places Scotland conference on 19th and 20th November at the SEC Glasgow. Exhibiting, as well as sponsoring part of the evening Awards where several hub projects are shortlisted, allows the hubs to showcase their success in creating modern, high quality, inspiring learning spaces, as well as highlighting their experience in assisting clients in their net zero just transition ambitions and providing strategic support in relation to educational estate strategy and infrastructure investment plans.

Ensuring a lasting legacy is also a key theme, as the hub programme in Scotland delivers significant Community Wealth Creation, demonstrating a positive wider impact beyond construction. All of the hubs have adopted a social value approach to their projects that boosts economic impact and sustainability in the communities they serve. 80% of hub contracts are awarded to Scottish SMEs, resulting in billions of pounds of local supply chain spend and supporting almost 2000 jobs and 2100 new apprenticeships.

Richard Park, Hub North Scotland’s chief executive, has been a member of the Conference Advisory Group this year, helping shape the event programme, and is excited about Hub Scotland’s involvement.
